Lincoln Park Zoo
The Lincoln Park Zoo offers a global safari in the heart of Chicago. See African elephants, Siberian tigers, Guam rails, Virgin Islands boas or any of more than 1,100 animals from regions all over the world.

In addition to serving the public as one of the last free-admission zoos in the country, the Lincoln Park Zoo also takes its commitment to education and conservation seriously. The Zoo offers a wide range of education programs for children, adults, families, teachers, school groups and community groups, reaching about 1.5 million people of all cultures and ages each year. The Zoo works with business and civic leadership to develop programs that are responsive to community needs and relevant to people's daily lives.

The Lincoln Park Zoo also participates in 31 out of 70 Species Survival Plans (SSPs) established by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association. An SSP is a cooperative breeding program among North American zoos designed to ensure genetic diversity of endangered species in captivity. The Zoo participates in release programs for the Arabian oryx, Guam rail, and Bali mynah.
