| Your journey to the Kansas
City Zoo will take you on a trip around the world. Spanning more than 200
acres, the Kansas City Zoo has more than 1,400 animals in naturalistic settings.
Marvel at more than 400 animals on the plains and in the forests of Africa.
Experience the activity and wonder of the land down under, where kangaroos
surround you. Get close to the most powerful animal that walks the earth
at the Okavango Delta in Botswana, and enjoy the familiarity of unique domesticated
animals from around the world. More than 400 animals make their home in the Zoo's 95-acre African exhibit. Kenya features a 17-acre plain with giraffe, five species of antelope, and wonderful views of cheetah, lion, black rhino, and hippo. The Congolese Forest offers close encounters with leopard, mangabey, bongo and lowland gorilla. The Tanzanian area showcases an extraordinary chimpanzee troupe; and baboons, lemurs and tortoise are at home in Uganda. The Okavango Elephant Sanctuary is home to six female and two bull African elephants. The female elephants roam a 4.5-acre exhibit with a pond, mudbaths and natural landscaping. Lucky visitors will experience the massive animals near their waterhole, where the pachyderms enjoy swimming. Kansas City Zoo 6700 Zoo Drive Kansas City, MO 64132 (816) 871-5700
