Tips on Getting Your Pet Into
Show-Biz
- Studios are looking for animals of all kinds - don't just send in
photos of your cats and dogs! Get your iguanas, pot belly pigs, and
cockatoos out there in front of agents!
- There are no open calls from studios looking for animal actors. You
will have to go through your local agency.
- Be ready for a significant time commitment if your pet gets picked!
You may have to be with your pet during a shoot or on the set, so make
sure you have time to spare before you jump in.
- Your pet does not necessarily have to have special skills or the ability
to do tricks, so don't be deterred if your animal isn't experienced.
- When submitting your animal's information to an agent, be sure to
include your name, address, and phone number. If your pet does any tricks
or is familiar with any simple commands, let the agent know. And don't
forget to send pictures!
- Animal trainer, Bruce Pelaccio, (featured in Animal Fair's fall design
issue) would be happy to hear from you if you are ready to get your
pet into show-biz!
