Betty White Got Lucky!
On January 17, 2012, long-time pet enthusiast and animal health activist, Betty White, will turn ninety years old! Animal Fair would like to take a moment to applaud her tireless efforts to promote respect and love for animals.
A comedic genius and cultural icon, Betty White has also served as the President Emeritus of The Morris Animal Foundation, where she’s been a trustee since 1971. She has worked with a variety of other organizations, including the Los Angeles Zoo Commission and Actors & Others for Animals. Her passionate voice has helped carry the spirit of animal activism from generation to generation.
“My mother and father were absolute animal nuts,” Betty said to me at her house a few years back. “I’m deeply grateful that they passed that passion on to me. It’s what life is all about, as far as I’m concerned.”
Here’s to Betty—a true hero. Happy birthday bitch, I meant Girl no I really meant Hero!
